I initially went to A. B. Hadley because a coworker suggested I call them when I needed some significant repairs done on a 2010 Subaru Outback (head gasket replacement). Their bid ended up being a little higher than what the dealership had quoted me and I was a little surprised but after talking on the phone with Tom the owner of the shop, I felt like going with A.B. Hadley would ensure the job would be done right and also felt like they would make sure the repair was worth doing based on the overall condition of the car. Anyhow, I ended up taking care of several other maintenance items such as timing belt, water pump, thermostat, spark plugs because this would save me labor costs if I were to have this maintenance done later. Anyhow, the work they performed was excellent and I felt like I’d extended the life of this car by many years but unfortunately a part on the radiator failed about 5 months later and the engine seized as a result of getting extremely hot. All my investment was for nothing or at least would have been had I decided to go to the dealership or some other shop. Tom (A.B. Hadley) graciously agreed to help me get into a used motor and replace the radiator. He also replaced under warranty the timing belt and water pump that had just been replaced. He did all of this without charging me for any labor and gave me all the parts at his cost! He didn’t have to do this because none of his original work had failed but he stood behind his word that the car was worth the original investment based on his diagnosis at the time. I don’t have enough good to say about him and his team. Jeff was very professional and patient with me. The bottom line is they are honest and thorough with their work. They are exactly what you hope to find in a mechanic. Car repairs are never fun and it’s usually going to cost you to have it done right but you don’t want to be taken advantage of and these guys will not do that. I highly recommend A. B. Hadley.
